Humboldt County Community Foundation was formed in 2005 from the State's County Endowment program. State legislation requires that 75 percent be awarded in grants and 25 percent be placed in permanent endowment. Our founding donors and friends sought to promote philanthropy among the citizens of Humboldt County and respond to the changing needs of the region and the 10 communities in the county

One of the best ways to maintain a healthy community is to provide support for projects within our own neighborhoods. Foundations and charities provide the glue that hold us together and support our local communities. Their efforts are multitasked and; in order to understand their full potential and impact on all of us, and any action you may take as a part of our community and society as a whole.
